A woman called 911 after a man attempted to lure her young daughter into his vehicle using a stuffed animal near the main entrance of her school yesterday afternoon.
Around 6:00 p.m. police received information the suspect vehicle was parked behind the playground in the 13000 block of 20th Avenue Northeast. The mother reported that as she watched her 4-year-old daughter ride her bike in the parking lot near the school, she noticed a black Ford Mustang with its driver side door open.
As the female victim walked by the driver side door of the suspect vehicle, the driver began waving a stuffed animal asking her to come to him. The young victim instead ran to her mother and they were able to leave safely from the location.
When officers arrived, they found the vehicle and the suspect. Police observed a stuffed animal, pillows, and blankets within the suspect vehicle. The male suspect was not able to provide information as to why he was at the location attempting to get the attention of children using a stuffed animal.
The 24-year-old male was arrested for luring of a minor and booked into King County Jail.
