Beginning June of this year, Seattle Police have noticed an increase in robberies in the following South Precinct area zip codes:
- 98108
- 98118
- 98144
- 98178
There have been fourteen reported incidents, but we believe there may be more that have gone unreported.
The suspects usually have been a group of 3-7 armed black males in their teens who have accosted victims outside of their homes and forced entry into their residence. Some of the suspects have been seen driving KIA or Hyundai vehicles.
During these reported incidents, the victims were assaulted, pistol whipped, or held at gunpoint, while items of value and cash were stolen.
The SPD’s Robbery Unit asks these communities to review your home security systems for any potential video footage that may assist with our ongoing investigations in identifying these suspects.
