Seattle Police have arrested a suspect involved in this homicide investigation.
The 59-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on September 1, 2023, and was booked into King County Jail. On September 7, 2023, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed charges for Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree.
Seattle Police Department Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a male deceased Thursday morning.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a male shot in the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue. Police arrived and located a male with a gunshot wound.
Officers attempted life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
The circumstances that led up to the shooting are unknown at this time.
Members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The Homicide Unit will be leading the investigation.
