On Sunday August 27th around 4:30 p.m. police observed a vehicle with no license plates traveling north on 39th Avenue South.
South Precinct patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, but the driver does not stop. The vehicle continued to flee making a southbound turn onto 42nd Avenue South. During this time, the front passenger door appears to open leading police to believe someone was planning to run from the vehicle.
As the vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of 42nd Avenue South and South Morgan Street, the front passenger exited and ran from officers. The remaining occupants of the car complied with commands to stay in the vehicle until later called out by police.
The 19-year-old male suspect driver was arrested for eluding and booked into King County Jail. The two rear passengers, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, were arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, but released to their legal guardians. The fourth occupant, the front passenger who fled from the car, was not located at the time of the incident.
Officers learned there were multiple firearms in the vehicle. It was secured and impounded pending a search warrant.
On Tuesday August 29th, police completed the warrant service of the vehicle and recovered four firearms with two of them having extended magazines.
