#2023-261979/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0147 hours, officers responded to the area of 11 Avenue and E Pine Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, shell casings were discovered inside Cal Anderson Park. Witnesses advised two persons were arguing and one of the males fired several rounds into the air. There were no reported injuries or property damage. No suspect was located in the area. GRVU & CVTF were notified.
#2023-262405/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1355 hours, officers received multiple calls about a suspect causing damage at multiple locations. The suspect was located in the 1000 block Valley Street and detained for property destruction, vehicle prowling, and possible reckless burning. Officers conducted their investigation, and the suspect was arrested for vehicle prowling and obstruction.
#2023-262651/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1840 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting call at Martin Luther King Jr Way S and S Holden Street involving two vehicles. Police arrived and located casings at the scene. While conducting an area check, an officer was flagged down regarding an erratic driver that was involved in a hit-and-run. A vehicle stop was initiated, two male subjects were detained, and a firearm was recovered. Both subjects admitted to being involved in a collision but not the shooting. Both subjects were identified and released from the scene. The firearm was cleared, and charges were requested by officer for a misdemeanor gun violation.
