#2023-266329/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0213 hours, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Rainier Avenue South for a report of a person throwing a bottle through a window and setting a couch on fire. Upon arrival, the fire was mostly put out by a good samaritan with a fire extinguisher. Officers located and detained a male suspect for investigation but was inconclusive. FM-5 responded and stated this fire was intentionally set. The fire was contained to the couch.
#2023-266407/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
At 0430 hours, the victim was picked up by the three suspects and they went joyriding. The suspects drove around the area of 7500 block of Delridge Way Southwest. The two male suspects put the victim at gunpoint and demanded everything he had. The suspects took the victim’s property, the victim exited the vehicle and he walked to his mother’s apartment.
#2023-266528/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 0956 hours, officers located an assault suspect and contacted him. The suspect attempted to swing and hit an officer. The two officers contacted the suspect and took him into custody. While taking the suspect into custody he assaulted a total of four officers. The suspect was arrested and booked into KCJ.
#2023-267151/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1906 hours there was a 911 call from a resident that heard a burst of multiple shots near 32nd Avenue South and South Frontenac Street. Police arrived and located two female victims in a gray vehicle. The victims said they were being followed by SUV, and they stopped to confront suspects. The suspects began shooting at the victim’s vehicle. Victims were not injured, and evidence was collected from the scene.
#2023-266971/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1604 hours, officers took a report on burglary, unlawful imprisonment, and assault. The victim reported the crime to her caseworker, who directed her to contact SPD. Officer arrived and a subsequent search proved that the suspect was no longer on site. At 0322 hours on 09-15-2023, the victim called back and reported that the suspect was back and attempting to enter her unit. Officers returned and located the male suspect a short distance away and placed him under arrest.
