Earlier this morning, a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle occurred in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Officers arrived around 7:00 a.m. and located the incident near Martin Luther King Junior Way South and South Morgan Street. Seattle Fire Department was at the scene providing aid, but the female victim had succumbed to her injuries at the location.
Police learned the 65-year-old male driver was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Junior Way South when his vehicle collided with the female victim.
TCIS detectives have not yet determined the circumstances of what led up to the collision.
An SPD Drug Recognition Expert officer evaluated the driver and discovered signs of impairment.
Police will be requesting charges upon completion of the DUI investigation and the blood warrant.
TCIS detectives will be the lead in this case.
