(Update)Detectives Seek Suspect in Beacon Hill Light Rail Station Assault

Detectives arrested a suspect in this investigation. The 39-year-old male was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of assault.

Detectives believe there are additional witnesses who were at the scene who have not been contacted. If anyone has information about this incident, please call SPD’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.


Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect in last week’s assault involving a hammer at the Beacon Hill light rail station.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 30s, approximately six feet tall, wearing a black hat with ear flaps, a dark blue jacket, a black tunic/dress and sandals.

Two Victims Assaulted at Beacon Hill Light Rail Station

Police are searching for a suspect that assaulted two victims in an unprovoked attack on Beacon Hill Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to two assaults in the 2700 block of Beacon Avenue South near the light rail transit station. A male suspect assaulted two victims in their 60’s with a hammer, one male and one female. Both victims were treated at the scene for head injuries by the Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center.

According to witnesses, the suspect boarded the light rail train northbound. Officers searched for the suspect with KCSO but were unable to locate him.
