Shortly before 6:30 p.m, officers responded to a serious assault at 2nd Avenue Extension South and South Jackson Street in Union Square.
Police arrived and found a 52-year-old male with serious injuries. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview where he died as a result of his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded and are handling the investigation. Members of the Crime Scene Investigation team arrived and processed the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the incident are unknown at this time.
Homicide detectives are unable to confirm the exact nature of the victim’s injuries. The King County Medical Examiner will be responsible for determining cause and manner of death.
