#2023-321067/West Precinct/Third Watch:
Officers responded to assist SFD with an encampment fire beneath the I-5 Northbound on-ramp from S Dearborn ST. Flames and smoke from the fire obscured visibility for drivers and WSP responded to close the on-ramp until the fire was extinguished. The encampment resident suffered severe burns to his hands and claimed a candle used for warmth was the cause of the fire. Subject was CBO’d for Reckless Burning prior to transport to HMC via AMR. No structural damage to on-ramp.
#2023-321890/North Precinct/Third Watch:
Suspect got into a disturbance with victim in the area of 97/Aurora. Suspect fired several rounds at suspect who was sitting in his vehicle striking the car several times. Victim fled in his vehicle striking several objects that eventually disable his vehicle a few blocks away. Suspect fled in an unknown direction on foot. Patrol arrived on scene, collected evidence and cleared the apartment to ensure the suspect was not inside. The suspect is still outstanding.
#2023-321889/South Precinct/Second Watch:
Officers attempted a traffic stop. The suspect failed to stop. Officers relocated the suspect vehicle in a parking lot. The suspect fled the scene disabling his own vehicle. A foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was taken into custody and an Officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was booked into jail. The suspect vehicle was listed stolen and impounded.
