Detectives are investigating after a man was shot during an alteration in the University District.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m., Dispatch received a call about a shooting in the 4200 block of Brooklyn Avenue Northeast. Police arrived and located an 18-years-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. Officers rendered aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.
According to witnesses, it appears that the victim was in an altercation with a male suspect before being shot. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting. The suspect has not been identified.
