Police responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of Aurora Avenue North and Lynn Street early Saturday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m. officers arrived and found Seattle Fire Department on the scene providing medical aid to the pedestrian injured from the collision.
Even after life-saving efforts, SFD pronounced the 73-year-old female victim deceased at the scene.
The 45-year-old male driver was heading southbound on Aurora Avenue North when he struck the female victim.
A DRE responded to assist with evaluating the driver and found no signs of impairment at the time of the incident.
TCIS detectives will be conducting the follow up investigation of the incident.
