#2023-372996/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1245 hours, Officers were dispatched to a carjacking near the intersection of 17th Avenue South and South College Street. The victim was driving his vehicle on South College St when the suspect suddenly pulled in front of the victim’s car requiring him to come to an immediate stop. The male suspect exited his car with a rifle and ordered the victim out of his vehicle. The suspect entered the victim’s car and quickly fled the scene. South patrol officers tracked the victim’s vehicle to Des Moines where they located it still occupied by the suspect. The suspect refused to stop, and the vehicle was pursued. The suspect crashed a short time later and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
#2023-373330/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2010 hours, a victim was forced out of his vehicle at the “Park and Ride” in Northgate by gunpoint. Three suspects then fled in his vehicle. Area check was unsuccessful, and the call was screened with the Robbery Unit.
#2023-373400/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2146 hours, Officers responded near Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street for a report of shots fired. Police arrived and located numerous shell casings in the road. While officers were investigating and processing the scene, another shots call came out near the intersection of 44th Avenue South and South Holly Street. Due to the time between these calls and the locations, it is believed that it was the same suspects for both shootings. No victims or property damage was located at either scene.
