Detectives are investigating after a male was shot and seriously injured Thursday morning in Belltown.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., police responded to multiple 911 calls of shots fired near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Warren Place. Officers arrived and did not locate any victims. Multiple witnesses who stated they heard several gunshots and watched as two men assisted a third into a vehicle before driving away.
While officers collected evidence from the scene, they were advised a 22-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at a nearby hospital. Officers responded to the hospital and learned the victim was in stable condition. A vehicle with significant bullet damage was located near the emergency room entrance.
Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded to the scene and will be leading the investigation. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time, and no suspects have been identified.
