#2024-010531/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 1-12-2024, at 07:10hrs, police responded to the 300 block of Occidental Avenue South. A warming fire in the alley spread to the building and caused damage to the building that triggered a large response from SFD. The building was empty at the time. No suspect information. SFD Fire Marshall responded.
#2024-010597/South Precinct/First Watch:
At 08:47hrs, there was a 911 call in the 6900 block of South 115th Street. It was reported shots were heard. Officers arrived and found evidence of the shooting and damage to a residence. One victim reported when he exited from his parked vehicle, three males jumped out of a vehicle and told the victim they were there to “collect”. Another victim came out onto a balcony which caused the three males to start retreating. However, once inside the suspect vehicle, a suspect began shooting at both victims. No one was struck by gunfire.
#2024-010803/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 12:32hrs, officers responded to a stabbing call in the 1300 block of Minor Avenue. The victim was stabbed by a guest of his roommate. Officers arriving on scene provided first aid to the victim until SFD arrived and took over. The victim was in stable condition at the scene and transported to HMC. The suspect fled from the scene on foot and was not located at the time of this incident.
#2024-010960/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 15:29hrs, West Precinct officers responded to a homeless encampment near Cherry Street and 6th Avenue for reports of an explosion. Upon arrival, a male subject was found with obvious burn injuries. The subject stated he was utilizing a warming fire outside his tent when an adjacent spray paint can exploded as he was turning away to enter his tent. A witness suggested an unknown subject possibly intentionally made the spray paint can explode. The injured subject was transported to HMC for treatment of his injuries. Patrol processed the scene for evidence.
#2024-011336/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 23:43hrs, police received a 911 call of about a possible stabbing in SODO. Officers arrived and located an injured subject, but the subject was extremely intoxicated, combative, and uncooperative. Officers were able to discover the victim approached an occupied vehicle, began pounding or punching the vehicle. Three occupants exited from the vehicle and told the victim to leave. A physical altercation ensued, and the victim fell to the ground hitting their head which resulted in a laceration. No stabbing occurred. After being treated by SFD, the victim fled on foot onto a moving train. The victim began running in circles and fell to the ground a second time. Officers made the decision to ITA the victim.
