Seattle police have arrested a 33-year-old woman after she fired two gunshots at another woman in a home in the 1100 block of 34th Avenue in the East Precinct.
The 22-year-old victim told officers the incident happened on Thursday at about 10:30 p.m. after she and the suspect she knew got into an argument leading up to the gunshots.
Neither of the bullets hit the woman and the woman who fired the gun left the home in a car.
The victim called 911 about an hour later in the West Precinct.
Officers in the West Precinct talked with the victim and were able to develop probable cause for an assault charge.
They found the getaway car leading them to the suspect in an apartment in the 600 block of East Howell Street.
The suspect refused to leave the apartment.
Both the Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT responded.
Following a warrant obtained by West Precinct officers and several hours of negotiation, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.
Officers did not find a gun, but they found the victim’s cell phone in the suspect’s possession.
She is now booked in the King County Jail on an assault charge and several felony warrants.
