Detectives are searching for two suspects after a woman was carjacked at gunpoint on Friday night.
The incident happened just after 9 p.m. in the area of East Pine Street and 35th Avenue, not far from Alvin Larkins Park.
The victim told Seattle Police officers she was driving home when a red Kia passed her and then parked nearby. The woman told officers she noticed the two Black men, get out of the Kia. As she started walking toward her home, she heard one of the men say something and turned around to find the other pointing a handgun at her.
The victim and officers were able to track the woman’s stolen car and located the vehicle near Angle Lake in SeaTac. The driver tried to evade police at a high rate of speed, while also running stop signs, before the driver and a passenger bailed out of the car and ran from the area. Police worked with other agencies to locate the suspects, but they were not found.
Officers were able to recover the woman’s stolen car from the SeaTac scene. They also found the victim’s bag and cell phone. Police discovered the red Kia the suspects left at the scene of the carjacking was also stolen.
