Seattle Police Searching for Suspects After Man Assaulted, Critically Hurt in University District

Seattle police are looking for two suspects involved in an assault in the University District on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the scene in the 4300 block of University Way Northeast on Jan. 27 at about 9 p.m.

Police were told a 21-year-old man was jumped by two men, then punched and kicked until he was unconscious.

After people nearby tried to stop the attack, the men involved ran from the area southbound on University Way Northeast. Neither were found. One of the suspects is described as Pacific Islander, in his 20s, 5’8″ tall, with a heavier build and long, wavy hair. The second suspect is described as Black, 5’5″ tall with a thin build, wearing a tan beanie.

The victim was treated by the Seattle Fire Department on the scene. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
