Detectives investigate Shooting in Beacon Hill

Detectives are investigating after a man was shot in a Beacon Hill neighborhood during an altercation.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a report from the Seattle Fire Department of a gunshot wound victim in the 5500 block of 35th Avenue South.

Police arrived and located a 42-years-old man suffering from a head injury along with a gunshot wound to the leg. Seattle Fire Department provided aid and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

The victim stated he was outside of his RV and was approached by an unidentified suspect. An altercation ensued and the suspect hit the man in the head with a stick before shooting him in the leg. After the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot. 

Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded to HMC and are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting. The suspect has not been identified.
