#2024-041123/East Precinct/First Watch:
At approximately 0542 hours, officers responded to a business for an in-progress burglary. A witness reported a U-Haul box truck was backing into the building multiple times. Another witness advised the U-Haul was attempting to pull something out of the business. Officers arrived on scene and observed the U-Haul was still on scene. The U-Haul quickly fled the scene after officers arrived. Officers attempted to stop the U-Haul, but it refused to stop. Officers were not authorized to pursue the suspect vehicle so lost sight of it. During the investigation, Officers learned the suspects attempted to steal a very large safe but were unsuccessful and caused significant damage to the business when they attempted to steal the safe. GIU detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
#2024-041618/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1547 hours an SPD unit was flagged down by a victim reporting he had been robbed at knife-point a few minutes earlier a few blocks away. The victim reported he had been making an ATM withdrawal outside a grocery store when the suspect approached him. The suspect pulled out a knife and demanded his money. The suspect punched the victim’s face and grabbed his money and fled on foot, along with a similar-looking male who had a pink blanket. The victim declined aid and an area check was negative.
#2024-041831/North Precinct/Third Watch
At 2028 hours North Pct officers were dispatched to two juvenile males walking in the 8700 block of Aurora Ave N possibly carrying firearms. A short time later a female reported she was sitting in her vehicle when two unknown males approached her car. The male suspects pointed firearms at the victim and ordered her out of the vehicle. The victim refused and one of the suspects fired a single shot in the air. The victim quickly exited, and the suspects entered the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene. Patrol officers arrived on scene and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspects refused to stop, and a pursuit was authorized. The pursuit continued into the West Pct where the vehicle crashed, and the two suspects fled on foot. The suspects were placed into custody after a brief foot pursuit and later booked into CCFJC. Robbery detectives were contacted and responded to the scene.
#2024-041933/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch
At 2356, the suspect was inside a business located at the 2600 BLK of California Ave SW. The suspect grabbed a case of Modelo Beer and began to exit the store. A store employee inside walked up to the suspect and asked him if he was going to pay for the beer. The suspect pulled out a knife and the victim backed off. The suspect left the store on foot. Officers arrived and set up containment. K912 responded and conducted a track. The suspect wasn’t located.
