#2024-040106/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0150 hours officers arrested a suspect for Felony Harassment, Stalking, and Attempted Burglary. As the suspect was being escorted to the patrol car, he headbutted an officer in the face causing a minor injury, and then threatened to kill the officer and his entire family. At King County Jail, the suspect headbutted a correction officer in the face and spit in the face of another corrections officer. Suspect booked for multiple felonies. Incident screened with 213.
#2024-040252/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0819 officers responded to a report where the victim was approached from behind and placed in a “chokehold”. The suspect also displayed a small knife while voicing disparaging remarks and general hatred for the victims perceived religious beliefs and national origin. Personal property was taken from the victim before the suspect ran off. There was a time delay in the initial reporting. Officers conducted a thorough investigation. Area check for the suspect was negative. 221 and all other mandatory notifications were made.
#2024-040326/West Precinct/First Watch:
At approximately 1100 hours, approximately 25 people from the “Vigil for Gaza” group gathered outside of the West Precinct for a Press Conference. They spoke to local medias for about 40 minutes. They remained outside the precinct for another 15-20 minutes for photograph and left without incident. West Pct Taskforce was activated for this event. POET1 was on scene.
#2024-040326/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 1404 hours officers responded to a robbery with a gun. The caller told dispatch the suspect was walking on 3rd Ave towards Pike St. Officers located the suspect one block north of where the robbery occurred and took him into custody. The suspect did not comply with officer commands and a taser was deployed. The suspect did not have a firearm. The suspect was transported to the hospital for treatment.
#2024-040717/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1645 hours officers responded to a bank robbery in the Wallingford neighborhood. A firearm was observed in the suspects waistband. The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers recovered evidence, but the suspect was not located. 222 and the Robbery Unit were notified.
#2024-040778/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1746 hours, a pre-planned pro-Palestine rally occurred at the Light Rail Station outside the UW Husky Stadium, beginning at 1800 hours. Ultimately about 300 people showed up and rallied in the UW/Light Rail property. UWPD did not deploy any resources for this event and it dispersed on its own at about 2000 hours. The protesters never interfered with busy rush hour traffic.
#2024-040030/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 2300 hours, officers responded to a robbery of a grocery in a Interbay neighborhood with a gun displayed. Approximately 2.5 hours later officers located the vehicle in the Pike/Pine corridor. After a field showup, a suspect was arrested and booked into jail. Robbery was notified.
#2024-040931/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 2130 hours, officers were conducting proactive patrol in the area of 3/Pike. They recognized a male that they had developed probable cause for a narcotics crime from a previous investigation. They contacted and arrested the suspect. Search incident to arrest they located: 113 grams of fentanyl, 38 grams of crack cocaine in 121 individual baggies, 4.3 grams of meth and seized over 850 dollars.
