2024-059961/East Precinct/Second Watch:
East patrol units were dispatched to a possible armed robbery with a knife. The suspect shoplifted at the a business on capitol hill and produced a knife when loss prevention attempted to stop him. Officers located the suspect and formed a contact team. The suspect initially refused to follow lawful orders by officers, but eventually surrendered and was taken into custody. The suspect was booked for the investigation of Robbery 1 and outstanding warrants.
2024-059931/North Precinct/First Watch:
Property owners and store staff complained of a demonstration in the 450 block of NE 71st St. They wanted the protestors removed. The demonstration was peaceful and in compliance with current law regarding protesting on property open to the public. All parties were provided with business cards with the case#. There were no disturbances.
