#2024-058684/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 3/2/24 at about 0255 hrs radio broadcasted Seattle Center Security guards were in a vehicle pursuit and the suspect vehicle had crashed at Alaska and Pike St. Seattle Center guards reported they contacted two suspects at the Seattle center for attempting to steal picnic tables and got in a foot pursuit. They chased them on foot which developed into a vehicle pursuit. Seattle center trapped the suspect vehicle in a parking lot by blocking the exits. The suspect fled after being pepper sprayed by the guards. When they fled they slightly bumped one of the Seattle center guards at a slow speed and bumped into one of the vehicles. They lost site of them at 5 Ave and Broad St. Waterfront security guards reacquired the vehicle and pursued them with yellow lights flashing. The vehicle crashed at Alaska/Pike when SPD was contacted and requested to respond. No injuries had occurred. The suspects were I and R from the precinct. 213 notified.
#2024-058992/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 1127 hrs, on the listed time and date a suspect approached a bank teller asking to exchange a two-dollar bill for two, one-dollar bills. With the bill he had a note demanding the money in the till and stated he had a weapon. The bank teller provided the money and the suspect fled. South and West units responded and detained a, at this time, not involved subject who happened to have a felony burglary warrant. The unrelated suspect was booked under the warrant. The robbery suspect is still outstanding.
#2024-05867/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At approximately 1200 hours a group of 1000-1500 demonstrators gathered at Denny Park along with Bike and car brigade. The group gave speeches in Denny Park and then marched to the Space Needle. The group filled the Space Needle round-about and spilled into the lawn area surrounding it. They then gave speeches. The crowd did not interfere with Space Needle operations. The demonstrations ended at approximately 1630 hours. Near the conclusion of the event, one arrest was made for property damage to the McDonalds at John/Broad. The suspect was I&R’d with a CBO completed. During the event, minor disturbances occurred between the crowd and drivers/passersby. The disturbances resolved themselves without police involvement. CRG, POET, SAT, West Bikes and Traffic-Lite monitored the demonstration. SPOC was activated.
#2024-059562/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0209 hours, officers responded to a shooting located near the 9400 block of Rainier Av S. Officers located two vehicles, with damage to them, parked in a parking lot of a nearby business. One vehicle had one bullet hole and the other had two bullet holes. The driver of one of the vehicles stated they were returning from a club when an unknown subject in a SUV started shooting at them. Three shell casings were located in the middle of the street. The casings, scene and vehicles were photographed and submitted. The casings were collected as evidence. GVRU and 233 were notified.
