#2024-103060/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1255 hours, witnesses reported seeing two males firing shots into the woods and then leaving in a vehicle. Responding officers located spent shell casings. Some of the casings were believed to be from this incident and the others are possibly from another shots call in the same area on 4/15/2023. No property damage, Victims, or Suspects located.
#2024-102992/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1154 hours, a male entered a bank and demanded cash with a note. The suspect matched the description of a previous robbery that occurred on 4/15. The suspect was armed with a handgun on 4/15, none seen today. Area check including K9 track negative. Patrol processed the scene with assistance from latent print unit. Robbery notified.
#2024-103504/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2137 hours, a suspect walked into the Safeway located in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave S and stole items from the store. Security confronted the Suspect and demanded the items be returned. A brief struggle ensued over the stolen merchandise and the Suspect assaulted security. The Suspect remained at the store and refused to leave. Officers arrived and placed the Suspect under arrest without further incident. The Suspect was transported and booked into KCJ.
#2024-103488/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2115 hours, an unknown male placed a small suspicious package in front of the location and quickly left the area. A short time later, likely the same person, deposited a second suspicious package in front of another business one block away. ABS responded and determined the packages to be non-hazardous.
#2024-103418/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1930 hours, officers responded to a theft turned robbery at a QFC. The suspect stole an employee’s purse earlier in the day and returned to the location hours later. The employee saw the suspect with her purse and security attempted to retrieve the stolen property. In an attempt to keep the stolen property, the suspect pulled out a knife and tried to stab security. Officers arrived and gave the suspect commands to drop the knife. The suspect dropped the knife but refused other commands. Due to the suspect not following commands and not knowing if he had more weapons, officers tased the suspect and placed him into custody. He was transported to KCJ.
