A 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested after an armed carjacking and pursuit on April 12. Seattle police responded to the 9200 block of 35th Ave Southwest at about 7:46 p.m. The victim reported two suspects robbed them at gunpoint and took their white Audi SUV.
The suspects left the scene in a dark-colored Hyundai they originally drove and the victim’s Audi. Officers were able to track the victim’s vehicle to Southwest 112th and 15th Ave Southwest. The victim’s Audi was located unoccupied.
The suspects’ Hyundai was spotted by police. They sped away from officers when they tried to stop the car and a pursuit was authorized. SPD, the King County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol were involved in the pursuit throughout Seattle and Burien.
The suspects eventually stopped the car and ran into a nearby ravine. KCSO Guardian 1 was able to identify where the suspects were hiding, the area was contained and officers started a K-9 track into the ravine.
Both teens were located and arrested for robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding a police vehicle, unlawful possession of firearms and taking a motor vehicle without permission. They were booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.
One gun was located along with other items the suspects discarded as they tried to run away. The cars were taken for processing.
