At 0816 hours, a subject was medically discharged by HMC medical staff and refused to leave. The HMC security team with a retired WSP wheeled the gurney with the subject onto the ramp and told him to leave voluntarily. The subject refused. A short time later, the subject stood up and became aggressive with the uniformed security team. The security team attempted to restrain the subject and struggled with the subject, which triggered a “Help the Officer.” East and West Precincts arrived at the scene a short time later to find the subject was in handcuffs. The subject was transported back to the East Precinct for further investigation. The HMC security team reported no assault and wished to trespass on the subject only. The subject was interviewed, and subsequently, the subject was identified and released from the precinct with REACH notified. No SPD officers were involved in the physical struggle with the subject.
