Seattle Police detectives are investigating a single-vehicle collision into multiple trees and a light pole in the Rainier Valley Tuesday morning.
On May 14th, shortly after midnight, patrol officers responded to a report of a crashed vehicle blocking southbound traffic in the 6300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. The driver fled the scene and is currently at large. No other drivers or pedestrians were injured.
The vehicle was reported stolen on April 21st. While investigating, officers located a modified handgun inside the vehicle with an extended magazine and a “switch” which allows for automatic firing. It was seized and placed into evidence.
Detectives in the General Investigations Unit will take the lead on this investigation.
