#2024-141795/South Precinct/First Watch:

In the early morning hours, officers responded to an alarm call at a cell tower site. Once arrived, they discovered that suspects had climbed the cell tower and removed cables from that cell tower and the cell tower across the street. This caused thousands of customers to lose cell service and the ability to call 911 in an emergency. At 0730 hours, Officers located an occupied dark blue Ford F150 that was backed into the gate of another cell site. Officers contacted and detained the driver once large cables resembling the cables cut from the previous cell sites were located in the bed of the truck. Officers also discovered that the fence had been cut to this cell site as well and cables were in the process of being cut. Officers also located bolt cutters, cable cutters, battery powered band saws, a climbing harness and climbing rope, likely used to climb the previous two towers to remove the cable. The suspect was arrested for 3 counts of burglary and felony malicious mischief.

#2024-142224/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1802 hours, a minor collision occurred with injuries just east of S Jackson St and 14 Ave S. Seattle Fire arrived on scene first and began assessing injuries and noticed the suspect passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle that caused the collision. Moments later another vehicle pulled up with that driver attempting to get the suspect to leave with him. The suspect pulled out a firearm and attempted to give it to his friend. The friend refused however the suspect threw the firearm into his friends’ vehicle who fled the scene. A help the firefighter was broadcast with east, west and south officers responding. Officers arrived on scene and placed the suspect in custody without incident. It was found that the suspects’ vehicle was a verified stolen. A search for the other vehicle led to negative results. The suspect was booked into KCJ for UPFA, possession of a stolen vehicle, and DUI.
