#2024-142590/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 05/26/2024 at approximately 0444hours, officers responded to a robbery call at a local business in the area of California Av Sw and Sw Edmunds St. The victim advised that 6 to 8 suspects entered into the store. The suspects were wearing dark clothing and ski masks. The suspects jumped the counter and demanded the victim to open up the cash register. The victim opened up the cash register and the suspects took the money from inside the register. The suspects then exited the store and got into an unknown vehicle. The suspects left the area at an unknown direction. No injuries to the victim and no weapons were seen.
#2024-142573/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At approximately 0350 hours, while officers were processing the scene of another shooting they heard several dozen shots being fired to the south around 12 Ave S and S Jackson St. Officers arrived and located 2 shooting scenes, one at 12 Ave S and S Jackson St and another at 12 Ave S and S Main St just to the north. Witnesses described a large crowd gathered on S Main St just prior to the shooting that scattered once the shooting started. Officers did not locate any victims. Almost 90 FCCs were marked and recovered from the two scenes of various calibers. GVRU responded and assisted with processing the scene. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
#2024-143055/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1646 hours, 911 received multiple calls reporting shots being fired in the area Delridge Way SW / Puget BV SW. Officers responded to the area and located shell casings at 25 Ave SW / SW Juneau St. A single unoccupied vehicle sustained bullet damage. No victims were located. The scene was processed, and evidence was collected. The incident was screened with GVRU.
#2024-143203/North Precinct/Third Watch:
Officers responded to an occupied residential burglary to a frat house. The suspect had fled the home just prior to police arrival. The suspect returned to the area however and was positively identified by witnesses/victims of the burglary. The suspect was also positively identified by the victim of an Assault 2 earlier in the day where the suspect broke the victim’s jaw. The suspect was taken into custody without issue and booked to KCJ.
