Seattle Police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in South Seattle Sunday morning.
At 3:48 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1000 block of Occidental Avenue South.
Police arrived on scene and located a 27-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The Seattle Fire Department arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.
A handgun was seized as evidence. Officers cordoned off the area until detectives with the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit arrived and processed the scene. No arrests have been made.
The circumstances involved in this shooting are under investigation. Homicide detectives have taken lead on this case.
