Seattle Police detectives are investigating a shooting in South Seattle Sunday morning.
At about 2 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of someone shot in the 2500 block of 29th Avenue South.
Officers arrived and located a juvenile female suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. They provided medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and continued medical care.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown and are under investigation. The suspect fled the scene and has not been located.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit arrived and processed the crime scene and will take lead on the investigation.
