Man Arrested After Hit and Run Collision in Yesler Terrace, Firearm Recovered

Seattle Police arrested a man and recovered a firearm following a hit and run collision in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood two weeks ago.

On May 28th at 8:23 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a vehicle missing a tire in the middle of the intersection of 12th Avenue South and Boren Avenue South. Additional callers reported the male hitting vehicles and threatening to shoot people.

Officers arrived and located the 52-year-old suspect in an agitated state near 13th Avenue and East Yesler Way. He was placed under arrest.

While investigating, police recovered a firearm and seized it as evidence. The suspect’s car was impounded to the vehicle processing room pending a search warrant. Additional evidence was located upon service of the warrant including ammunition and narcotics paraphernalia. 

The man was booked into King County Jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Felony Harassment. Additional charges were requested for Driving Under the Influence and Obstructing a Public Officer.

Detectives with the Homicide & Assault Unit have been assigned to this investigation.
