Seattle Police are investigating after two people were shot and one man was arrested in the Chinatown-International District Sunday morning.
At 12:29 a.m., a patrol officer located two men shot near 8th Avenue South and South King Street. Police moved the victims to a secure location as additional police resources responded to the scene.
A 37-year-old male and a 28-year-old male were treated on scene by the Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Meical Center in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers determined that the shots came from a nearby second story apartment window. The Incident Commander coordinated tactical operations and patrol officers located the shooting suspect hiding inside of a residence and placed him under arrest.
The 24-year-old suspect was taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue. Once medically cleared he was booked into King County Jail on two counts of Assault 1st Degree.
A firearm was located near the window overlooking a parking lot where the victims were believed to be shot. Multiple firearms and firearm accessories were located inside the residence and seized as evidence upon service of a search warrant.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit have been assigned to this case. Additional charges may follow as they complete their investigation.
