#2024-176202/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0911 hours, officers responded to a vehicle vs BNSF train collision. Upon arrival, Police found that the driver of the car had exited the vehicle and was waiting for the response officers. Upon further investigation, the driver stopped at 3rd Avenue South and South Holgate Street while the crossing arms were down. The driver slowly rolled toward the northbound track before a BNSF train collided with the vehicle. The driver was processed for D.U.I., and no signs of impairment were observed. The driver was cited for the incident. BNSF train master arrived and inspected their train for damage before moving their train. SDOT SRT assisted with traffic diversion around the blockages. PIO and TCIS were notified of the incident.
#2024-176398/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1228 hours, officers responded to Pioneer Square Park for the report of a male lighting fires in the park. The subject attempted to assault a park ambassador but was unsuccessful. Police were advised by the park ambassador that they wanted the subject trespassed. The subject was drinking alcohol in the park and the officer removed the can, the subject struck the officer in the leg and was placed under arrest for Assault 3. The subject was declined at King County Jail and was transported to Harbor View Medical Center for an evaluation and was later booked into King County Jail.
#2024-176380/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1220 hours, Harbor Patrol received a call of a person in the water by the Fremont Bridge. Harbor4 responded and attempted a rescue by multiple means but the subject in crisis refused the efforts. A Harbor emphasis unit was close by and responded in a small boat. The small boat was able to ferry SFD recourses to the larger Harbor4 boat. SFD rescue swimmers were able to get the male in crisis to Harbor4 which in turn, took him to an awaiting AMR.
#2024-176884/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2108 hours, officers responded to the area of 42nd Avenue South and South Trenton Street for a report of shots fired and a bullet striking the side of their home. Police arrived and were flagged down. Shell casings were found in the roadway at Martin Luther King JR Way South and South Henderson Street. Police located an additional shell casing still in the roadway. Evidence was retrieved that showed a dark SUV started shooting at a white sedan. No victims were located. The scene was photographed, and evidence collected and submitted. The incident was screened with GVRU.
