#2024-183744/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0258 hours, Officers were flagged down about a DV/Assault located at California Ave SW/SW Admiral Way. The male victim and female suspect are married. The two got in an argument and at some point, exited their vehicle. The suspect started punching the victim, and he threw punches back. The suspect’s son, daughter, and daughter’s boyfriend began assaulting the victim. At some point the suspect attempted to stop the assault. The victim had swelling and an injury to his eye. The victim was transported to the hospital. The suspect was arrested for Assault 2, and the other suspects fled the scene.
#2024-183670/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0126 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of an assault. After contacting their victim, it was determined that the assault was based on the perception of the victim’s sexual orientation. After viewing video, officers observed the suspect walking throughout the stairwell avoiding officers’ contact. After a brief search, the suspect was located and arrested near his apartment door without incident. 243 was notified and notifications sent via email.
#2024-183816/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0539 hours, Officers responded to 600 blk of Washington regarding DV threats to kill where the victim stated that suspect had access to a firearm. PC was established and the suspect was taken into custody. search incident to arrest narcotics were located on the suspect as well as a large amount of cash. The victim indicated that the suspect had a firearm in his backpack which was in the vehicle he was found in. The suspect is a convicted felon, and the primary officer obtained a warrant for the vehicle to recover the backpack. Upon execution of the warrant a stolen firearm was recovered as well as narcotics, packaging materials and a scale. Narcotics were notified.
#2024-184525/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1934 hours, Officers responded to a report of a male walking in the street waving a handgun at people. Officers arrived, located the suspect, and observed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. The suspect was non-compliant with instructions and attempted to walk away. He was taken into custody after two 40mm applications. The firearm was recovered and found to be a replica BB/Pellet gun. Suspect booked to KCJ.
#2024-999999/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1300 hours, Relational Policing Team, POET, and Traffic Unit coordinated with “Traffic Jam for Peace”, calling to end gun violence for a planned mobile vehicle demonstration. Approximately 65 vehicles gathered at Airport Way S/S Norfolk St and with assistance from the Traffic Unit drove to northbound I-5, unescorted by SPD. The peaceful group of demonstrations failed to follow SPD instructions to stay in the right-hand lane of travel on I-5 and spread their caravan of vehicles across I-5 slowing traffic. WSP received multiple 911 calls regarding the traffic interruption, including one caller who threatened substantial bodily harm to the demonstration group. WSP stopped the demonstration at Albro/Swift and instructed them to exit the freeway. Traffic Unit did an excellent job adjusting to an otherwise unplanned route on arterials through SODO until the group arrived at their destination at King 5 Plaza at 1 Ave S/S Edgar Martinez. The group peacefully gathered until approximately 1630 hours and departed without further traffic disruption. WSP and SPD command worked collaboratively with event organizers regarding adhering to traffic flow instructions for future occurrences.
#2024-184678/South Precinct/First Watch:
At 2230 hours, officers responded to the Showbox SoDo at 1700 1 Ave S to reports of shots fired in the club during a concert. Officers arrived and cleared the venue ensuring there was no ongoing threat or victims. During the investigation it was determined a single gunshot was fired into the air after a disturbance. Officers located the subject who fired the shot and recovered a firearm. This female was injured during the disturbance and was treated by SFD and transported to HMC. Some of the other subjects involved in the disturbance were also contacted and interviewed. GVRU responded to the scene to assist with interviews and scene processing. The circumstances leading up to the disturbance and shot fired remain under investigation.
#2024-184734/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2320 hours, officers responded to the 7700 block of 31 Ave SW, where calls were made to 911 about a black sedan seen speeding down the street while the driver fired shots from a handgun out of the window. No people or property appeared to have been struck, and there did not appear to be a reason for the gunfire. Three spent 9mm shell casings were located in the street, where they were photographed and collected as evidence. GVRU was notified. An area check for the suspect vehicle was negative.
#2024-=184780/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2351 hours, the suspect in this matter, while violating a served No Contact Order, held a gun to the victim’s head while in front of the victim’s child. Threats of death were made. The victim was able to get herself and her child to safety. The suspect was found in a vehicle outside of the victim’s apartment building. The suspect was not compliant with officer commands and eventually started their car and fled the scene. Pursuit was authorized but, unfortunately, the suspect was able to escape capture. The suspect was found in the East Precinct area but was again, able to avoid capture. 213 and 243 were both notified.
