#2024-202422 South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0227 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 9200 Block of Rainier Av S. Multiple residents in the area called 9-1-1 reporting hearing gunshots followed by the sound of vehicles leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Officers located the scene in the SB lanes & W side of Rainier Av S. Officers also located 3 unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot of a hookah lounge on the E side of Rainier Av S that were struck by gunfire. No GSW victims were located. Officers processed the scene. In total, 44 9mm FCCs, 3 40mm FCCs and 2 bullet fragments were located. No surveillance footage of the incident was located at this time. GVRU was notified.
#2024-202314/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2322 hours, hours, the caller reported his vehicle was just stolen with a firearm inside at 12 Ave/E Madison St. Officers conducted an area check and located the vehicle. They followed the vehicle where it was stopped with the assistance of KCSO. A passenger ran from the stop and Type 2 UOF was used. The driver was arrested and booked for PSV and DUI.
#2024-202477/North Precinct/First Watch:
At -0512 hours, two victims called 911 and stated a red SUV, possibly a Toyota, sped toward them while they were in a vehicle in front of one of their homes. The victims drove off, and the suspect/s chased them aggressively before firing two shots at them. The victims hit two parked cars during their flight from the suspects. No casings or damage located. GVRU-Sgt Dalan notified.
#2024-202977/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1442 hours, 5 Juvenile victims were riding a metro coach when a group of 10-15 juveniles ages 17-7yo on the coach began to make bias statements towards the victims. The victims exited the bus based on the bias remarks. The suspects followed the victims off the bus and surrounded them and demanded their property. At one point a 7yo suspect brandished a hatchet. This increased the level of fear for safety to the point that the one of the victims opened their handbag, and the suspects stole cash out of the handbag. victims fled to a nearby business and called police. Area check was conducted with negative results.
#2024-203452/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2331 hours, victim was walking SB on Rainier AV S when she was approached by 2 BF suspects. Victim couldn’t understand what the suspects were saying to her. One suspect pulled the victim’s hair, taking her to the ground and punched the victim and the other suspect slapped the victim in the face. Suspects stole the victim’s backpack and fled SB on Rainier Av S. Officers conducted an area check for the suspects with negative results. The victim’s backpack was recovered from a trash can. Suspects stole the victim’s money from the backpack. Robbery was notified of the incident.
