#2024-208131/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0047 hours, Officers responded to the 9400 block of 27 Ave SW to a report of a DV disturbance with a firearm. Victim reported her brother was armed with a handgun and had threatened to kill her. Suspect had fled in a vehicle prior to Officers response. Officers began to conduct an area check for the suspect as the victim began to make arrangements to stay with a friend. The suspect returned to the scene on foot and fired one round at the victim who was in a parking lot near the original call location. Officers heard the shot and were only a block away and the suspect began to flee into Roxhill Park. Containment was attempted, and the suspect was located at the shopping complex North of the park. After a brief attempt to run from Officers the suspect was taken into custody. Booked into KCJ for DV Assault 1 and Felony Harassment.
#2024-208866/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1944 hrs, SW Patrol responded to a report of a shooting that had occurred near 16 Ave SW/SW Holly St. While en route, responding Officers located a secondary victim vehicle at 16 Ave SW/ SW Holden St. This victim had been shot at while in a vehicle and suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his hip from shrapnel. SFD evaluated and cleared at the scene. This victim stated that the scene for this shooting was at 13 Ave SW/SW Myrtle St. The original victim vehicle was located at 16 Ave SW/SW Holly St. This first victim vehicle had been driving northbound on 16 Ave SW when suspects in a vehicle overtook them in the bike lane firing as they passed. The vehicle was struck by multiple rounds, but the occupants were unharmed. One of the suspects at some point dropped a firearm at 16 Ave SW/SW Myrtle St. The firearm was damaged and spilled numerous unspent rounds in the intersection. The firearm was retrieved by the suspect, and they fled northbound on 16 Ave SW. Officers processed scenes at 16/Myrtle (40 9mm unfired rounds, 1 9mm FCC, 1 .45 FCC), 16/Holly (Victim Vehicle), 16/Holden (Victim Vehicle) and 13/Myrtle (11 9mm FCC, 2 .45 FCC). GVRU was notified of the incident as well as SPD Media and 253.
#2024-209048/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2324 hours, traffic officers working the Chris Staptleton concert reported a DOA (deceased on arrival) in the 1200 block of 1 Ave. The deceased was found lying down in the bushes right off the sidewalk. He was by himself in a busy parking lot. Security reporting seeing the subject stumbling in the parking lot at about 2300 hrs and appeared heavily intoxicated. Due to the congestion of the parking lot security did not see him fall or know how he ended up in the bushes. Officers did not find anything suspicious or notice signs of foul play but the deceased appeared to have previously attended the concert. ME arrived and did not find any suspicious injuries. Media was on scene. 213 was notified.
