#2024-222163/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0301 hours, the clerk was inside agas station located at the 4500 BLK of Fauntleroy Wy SW. Five suspects walked in and pushed the clerk up against the wall demanding money. The suspects took approximately $450.00 in cash, and about $3,000.00 in tobacco products. The suspects left in an unknown vehicle. The victim didn’t have any injuries. Robbery was notified, and fingerprints were lifted from the scene.
#2024-221214/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0830 hours, collaboration from the D80 units, AR Team members, SDOT, and contractors, the large encampment at 10th Ave S / S Dearborn St. was cleared and cleaned. A few of the unhoused individuals were placed into tiny homes. The cleanup efforts will continue.
#2024-222230/South Precinct/First Watch:
At 0603 hours, numerous calls came in reporting shots fired with 2 people shooting at each other near a business in R2. Some of the subjects involved were reported leaving in a vehicle and another subject involved left on foot. Officers arrived on scene and conducted their investigation. No victims or property damage were found. Several witnesses stated a vehicle with 3 occupants showed up to the vacant business next door, which is a known narcotics issue in the South Precinct. The primary shooter was with an acquaintance on foot and the shooter went inside the local grocery store as his acquaintance contacted the three individuals in the listed vehicle. The acquaintance was involved in a physical fight with the vehicle’s occupants and when the shooter came outside the store, he observed what was happening. The shooter was then seen shooting approximately 5 rounds at the listed vehicle as the listed vehicle left southbound on Rainier Av S. Officers located 4 bullet fragments in the parking lot. Scene was photographed and evidence submitted. Area check for possible victim(s) and suspect was negative. 231 and GVRU were notified.
#2024-222585/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1320 hours, Officers observed a male in crisis, running in and out of traffic, sweating profusely and causing property damage. Officers attempted to follow the subject on foot and tried to convince him to stop and sit down. The subject refused to listen and kept walking south bound on 12th Ave onto the Jose Rizal bridge. While on the bridge he threatened to jump and climbed to the other side of the railing. Officers convinced him to step back over the railing. Th suspect ran southbound and after a short struggle was detained by Officers. Subject was transported to the hospital as he was danger to himself. A Charge by Officer was written for the property damage.
#2024-222838/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1718 hours, Officers responded to the Boren overpass of I-5 throughout the day for reports of a man throwing items onto the freeway. The suspect was not located until later in the day when at least one car was damaged on the freeway by thrown items. Washington State Patrol also responded. When WSP attempted contact with the suspect they were assaulted with a trooped being struck with a metal pole. The suspect was also armed with a knife. The suspect retreated under the Boren Overpass into a fenced off area. The suspect began barricading the fences to deny Officers access. Officers were able to determine that the suspect was alone and began calling for additional resources. Multiple officers from both East and West Precinct responded to assist WSP. HNT and SWAT arrived and assisted with contacting the suspect. WSP took custody of the suspect, and they were booked for felony assault and property destruction. SDOT cleaned up the items thrown onto the freeway. Duty Captain was notified.
#2024-223106/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2149 hours, Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Safeway at MLK/S Othello St. Suspect walked into the store and grabbed a case of Stella beer and walked out. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and physical altercation ensued. Loss prevention pinned the suspect to the ground and suspect began reaching inside of his backpack making statements that he was going to stab them. Loss prevention backed away and the suspect ran off. No injuries were reported to police. Area check was negative for the suspect. Robbery was notified.
#2024-223179/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2258 hours, Settle Fire Department requested an expedited response from SPD to 1116 33 Ave S. SFD was responding for an intoxicated 18-year-old but was verbally threatened that people on the property had firearms. There was reportedly a large group of teens there for a party. Officers responded and were met with intoxicated subjects who denied them entry onto the premise. One of the subjects assaulted the officers and the suspect was quickly taken into custody. Officers located the intoxicated subject, who was not responsive and required medical aid. The house contained dozens of intoxicated subjects who appeared underage. Officers dispersed the party. The suspect was subsequently transported and booked into KCJ. Hazard reports completed. 243 responded.
