At 0056 hours, South Pct Officers were dispatched to a report of an attempted carjacking at the Rainer Beach community center with shots fired. The victim at the time of the call had fled the scene and was just outside of the city. Robbery was notified and responded to the scene. As the investigation progressed it was learned that the victim was lured to this location as a retaliation for an unreported assault earlier in the week and this was a targeted assault rather than a carjacking.

#2024-231983/South Precinct/First Watch:

At 0440 hours, the police were contacted by a victim reporting a robbery at a business located in the 2000 Block of Airport Way S. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene. The victim and witnesses reported that the incident began when the victim was followed by an unfamiliar vehicle, described as an older coupe or sedan, into the back entrance of the victim’s workplace. The suspects were described as non-white males. The male suspect confronted the victim, initially attempting to punch him but missing. The suspect then brandished a knife and made threatening statements, including, “He hates white people and wants to kill a white person.” When the suspect noticed a bystander filming the incident, he swung the knife at a second victim’s throat and declared, “It’s my goal in life to kill a white person.” The suspect then stole the second victim’s cell phone. The suspect’s associate intervened, and both suspects fled the scene in the vehicle, which sped westbound out of view.
