Night Bikes Patrol Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect, Gun, Cash, Suspected Fentanyl Recovered

Seatle police arrested an armed robbery suspect Downtown on August 16th.

At 9:02 am, bicycle patrol officers responded to a report of man brandishing a firearm in the 300 block of Pine Street. When they located him, saw the gun and detained him, he immediately attempted to flee.

The suspect disobeyed lawful police commands. After a long struggle on the ground, multiple officers were needed to place him into handcuffs. A gun with a visible extended magazine was recovered from his belongings.

While investigating, police determined that the male approached a group of community members drinking beer. He stole one of their beverages and brandished a firearm when they confronted him.

The firearm used during this crime was previously reported stolen from Snohomish County. Officers also recovered wadded cash and 2.4 grams of suspected fentanyl from the suspect.

The 34-year-old man was transported to King County Jail and was denied booking by deputies. He was transported to Swedish First Hill for medical evaluation.

When discharged, he was booked into King County Jail for Robbery 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possessing a Stolen Firearm, and Obstructing a Public Servant. Bail was initially set at $75,000, and later reduced to $10,000.

Detectives with the Robbery Unit have been assigned to this case. Charges were referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Additional charges of Possession of Synthetic Drugs/Narcotics may be added as detectives complete their investigation.
