#2024-264295/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0301 hours, dispatch broadcast Federal Way PD was in pursuit of a Car Jacking vehicle and were requesting assistance from SPD as they were southbound on Martin Luther King Jr Way South from South Thistle Street. Prior to SPD officers arriving, Tukwila PD was out with the vehicle that had crashed in the 9800 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way South. Five occupants fled and Tukwila PD had the driver in custody. Containment was immediately established, and a K-9 track was initiated. SPD Officer and WSP Trooper located and detained three females, leaving only on male suspect at large. WSP took primary on this event, No SPD officers were involved in the pursuit. Tukwila K-9 conducted their track but was unable to locate the suspect. Four of the five suspects in this incident were captured.
#2024-264438/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0800 hours, 911 Dispatch (CARE) received a report of an object thrown through a bank window in the 400 block of Broadway East. Employees stated that overnight a metal canister was thrown through the window creating a large hole. Police arrived and setup a perimeter and Seattle Fire Department HazMat team was called. During the investigation, the area was evacuated and streets shutdown, as a precaution. Seattle Fire Department deemed the object as non-hazardous and cleared the scene. The streets were reopened, and the broken window will be investigated as destruction of property.
