#2024-277592/West Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0127 hours, West Precinct Officers contacted a large group of approximately 20-25 individuals congregating in Hoa Mai Park (1224 S King St) after hours. Present at the park is signage indicating park hours (0400-2330), therefore anyone loitering in the park was committing trespass. Since the park opened it has become a location where subjects sell and use illegal narcotics, among various other illegal activities. The individuals were detained, identified, and issued park trespass warnings. Among them 3 were arrested on either warrants, Narcotics crimes, or Firearm Crimes. 3 new calls were generated to document the arrests 24-277598 (Obstruction, PWI, UPFA, & Possession of Stolen Firearm), 24-277612 (Warrant & possession of ammunition by prohibited person) 24-277613 (Warrant). The suspect arrested under 24-277598 fled as Officers were making announcements to group in the park to remain where they were and that they were being detained. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit, and on search incident to arrest was found to be in possession of 19.3 grams of Meth, 13.7 grams of Crack, 7 grams of Fentanyl powder, 8.3 grams of Blue Fentanyl pills, $357.00 in cash, and a stolen firearm.

#2024-277457/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2116 hours, call received reporting one gunshot and a broken window. Officers arrived and located damage inside the residence and a bullet fragment. Trajectory suggests the shot was fired from I-5. No persons were injured.

#2024-277630/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0302 hours SW Patrol responded to 1600 SW Holden St to a report of shots fired at a 7/11. The suspect fled prior to Officers arriving. Victim reports he was closed for cleaning and had the front door locked. Suspect knocked on the door to get the clerks attention, and once he had it, he brandished a handgun. The clerk immediately retreated further into the store and the suspect fired 3 rounds through the front glass door. The suspect left on foot and a possible getaway vehicle pulled into the lot after him. This vehicle was possibly a dark colored sedan. An extensive area check was unsuccessful for this vehicle. This robbery is possibly related to other armed robberies that have occurred the last two nights. SPD Robbery Unit was notified of this incident. SW Patrol processed the scene. 241 and SPD Media were also notified of the incident.

#2024-277634/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0326 hours, 0330hrs, a Subway on 4th Av S was robbed at gunpoint by two masked suspects. The suspects entered the store and took money from the cash register and destroyed the computer equipment with the surveillance footage. The same suspects then went one block away to the Shell gas station and produced a firearm and robbed the gas station destroying the computer equipment once again. These suspects are believed to be responsible for several of the robberies throughout the weekend. Detectives responded to the scene.

#2024-278374/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1829 hours, officers were dispatched to 4 AV/Pine ST for a suspect that had pulled out a handgun and was loading it while sitting on a bench. A few minutes later, a second caller reported a male had shot a round in the air at 3 AV /Pine ST. Suspect description was provided and officers located and detained the suspect. Witnesses identified the suspect detained as the shooter. A loaded Glock 19 with a 30-round magazine was located on his person. Search incident to arrest, a single spent 9mm round was retrieved from the suspect’s front pocket. The suspect was booked into KCJ for VUFA and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. No injuries or property destruction reported.

#2024-278121/West Precinct/Third Watch:

At 1300 hours, 3rd Watch West Patrol Officers conducted proactive narcotics Operations in the area of 3 AV/Bell St resulting in three cases, four arrests, and the recovery of illegal narcotics. Due to good staffing, the operation was continued into the first half of the 3rd watch shift and two additional cases were generated, also consisting of four arrests and the recovery of illegal narcotics. Over the course of the operation Officers in rotating observation posts observed suspects making hand-to-hand transactions wherein they were able to develop probable cause to arrest the involved parties. In each instance a new case number was drawn to document the arrests/contacts. Those case numbers are as follows: 2024-278161 (1 arrest), 2024-278314 (2 arrests/1 LEAD Referral), 2024-278270 (1 arrest), 2024-278462 (2 arrests), and 2024-278582 (2 arrests). Over the course of the operation a wide variety and quantity of narcotics were recovered to include: 108.7g fentanyl, 36.6g Meth, 88.9g crack cocaine, 12.7g powdered cocaine, and 4.3g heroin, totaling 8.86 OZ narcotics recovered. Additionally, $2744.25 and two illegal knives were recovered from the suspected narcotics dealers across the operation.
