At 1300 hours, 150 people gathered at South Lake Union Park for the Defend Palestine Rally and March. The group contained car/bike brigade and a contingent of Black Bloc. Overall, the rally and march were a non-issue. Two disturbances occurred and major traffic did occur, though. As the group began their march the Black-Bloc decided they did not like another demonstrator’s sign and accosted the demonstrator and broke his sign, and later that same group tried to walk wrong way against traffic. A report was written for the broken sign and black bloc stopped going the wrong way when ordered to do so by officers. Officers were placed in positions to intervene quickly if black bloc continued to escalate. Additionally, the march as a whole blocked west bound Mercer St at Fairview Ave N which led to a temporary closure of I-5 Mercer Off-ramps to avoid major issues on I-5. CRG, 2 Watch Patrol, POET, SAT, SWAT and PIO were deployed for this event. SPOC was activated.

A short time later a victim called in, from a different location, stating suspects associated with an SUV had shot his car, as he fled the area.
