#2024-322455/South Precinct/First Watch:

At 0813 hours, officers were dispatched to 800 block of S Dakota ST for an assault in progress. The call stated 5-6 males were assaulting the victim with a machete and baseball bats. The victim stated 3 white males, and 1 black male came to his tent, while he was inside, and began to hack it open with the machete. The suspects dragged him out of the tent and began to beat him with the baseball bats while stealing his personal items from the tent. Police arrived quickly to the scene and detained multiple people armed with axes and sticks, that could be confused for baseball bats. Officers conducted a field show-up with the witnesses and victim and it was determined the detained individuals were not involved. An extensive area check was conducted but the suspects were not located.  

#2024-322662/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1140 hours, two were on a Downtown Activation Team emphasis patrol near 3rd Ave and Pine St. The officers on-viewed an assault in progress. The officers intervened to attempt to end the assault, and a Taser was deployed at the suspect. The suspect fled on foot. The officers remained at the scene to render aid to the victim. The suspect has not been located.

#2024-322763/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1346 hours, officer responded to a robbery at a grocery store in the 2600 block California Ave SW. Loss prevention observed a subject select items from store shelves and exit the store without paying. Loss prevention confronted the subject and attempted to retrieve the items. The subject pushed the victim and stated, “don’t, I’ll do it”, while reaching for his waistband. The victim observed an object and believed it resembled a gun. The victim fled the area allowing the subject to leave. An area check was conducted with negative results.

#2024-323231/West Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2314 hours, officers responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of W Ewing St. The reporting party advised officers that his friend was refusing to leave his boat and believed she was in crisis. The reporting party eventually agreed to leave the boat and allow his friend to stay in hopes that she would not be trespassed or arrested. Unfortunately, as the RP and officers exited the dock, the suspect quickly followed and assaulted an officer. She was subsequently arrested for assaulting an officer and while being handcuffed, assaulted more officers. The suspect was later booked into KCJ for Assault 3.

#2024-323141/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2106 hours, officers responded to an unknown at 9400 Rainier Av S for caller mumbling and grunting and not responding to questions, mentioning hand or hip hurting. Police arrived on scene and through their investigation developed PC for Robbery 2. Officers responded to the suspect’s apartment and heard the suspect inside and confirmed through security footage that the suspect entered the apartment. Officers contained the residence and applied for a search warrant. The warrant was served, but suspect wasn’t present. Stolen property was located and recovered from inside. Incident was screened with 243 and Robbery unit.
