#2024-325200/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0100 hours, Callers reported hearing gunshots in the area of Magnuson Park. Officers from East and SW arrived and located the scene. Casings were recovered, and a small blood trail was found. No victims were located. Patrol processed scene.

#2024-325214/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0205 hours, officers were dispatched to a shots heard call in the Mount Baker Neighborhood. Police located spent rifle casings in the street. No victims, property damage, or suspects were located.  

#2024-325258/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0340 hours, SPD received multiple calls concerning hearing shots located at the 2700 BLK of California Ave SW. Police arrived and located different scenes. Officer located vehicles shot up at the 4200 BLK of SW Stevens St, 3000 BLK of 46 Ave SW, and the 3600 BLK of 51 Ave SW. Officers recovered shell casings. Based on the investigation the same suspects committed the crimes at each location. Officers also located some vehicles that were prowled. Evidence was collected, and houses were checked for occupants. GVRU was notified about the incident.

#2024-325414/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 0429 hours, officers were dispatched with the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) to an overdose in the West Precinct area. Upon arrival, SPD officers provided scene security to SFD personnel. While on the scene, an unknown suspect entered an unsecured fire engine while the keys/engine were inside to get the SFD personnel’s attention. SPD officers contacted the suspect and detained the suspect without any issues. Upon further investigation, the suspect was arrested for Attempted Auto Theft and booked into the King County Jail. The officers’ quick reaction prevented a fire engine from being stolen.

#2024-325832/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2038 hours, multiple callers reported hearing shots fired in the area of 2505 E Yesler Wy. Resident/victim of a building in the 2500 block of E YESLER WY APT then reported that gunshots had been fired through their window. Patrol responded finding shell casings in a narrow side alley adjacent to the victim’s apartment with corresponding bullet damage to the victim apartment’s exterior window. Police contacted the victim and canvased the area. There were no injuries. GVRU was notified. Patrol processed the scene.

#2024-325275/East Precinct/First Watch:

At 0429 hours, East officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a vehicle into a house and on fire. Officers arrived on scene to find the vehicle smoking and inside the north side of the residence located on the SE corner of 15/Aloha. The driver had been removed from the vehicle by a bystander prior to arrival. Officers forced entry into the residence, when they received no answer at the door, and found a large volume of smoke inside. SFD arrived and took over the interior check of the residence. No persons were found inside. Significant damage was sustained to the residence on all three levels and the driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI. TCI screened.

#2024-325567/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1400 hours, A young student posted a photo of a gun on Instagram with a caption of ‘I like guns’. A few people commented on the photo with one student saying, ‘I like guns too, don’t come to school tomorrow.’ The post was reported to the principal of the school who called SPD. A parent of the child who made that comment was eventually contacted and made aware of the situation. It was told to SPD that he does not have any weapons or access to them. Principal was updated. The student will not be allowed to attend school as of now. 232 was briefed on the incident. Intel notified.

#2024-325479/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1900 hours, The Women’s Declaration International (WDI) held a speaking event at the Seattle Central Library. Approximately 100 ticketed people were in attendance. Approximately 75 demonstrators with approximately 15 Black Block arrived to protest the event. Seattle Library Staff managed the event with SPD monitoring. At the beginning of the event, Black Block attempted to physically barricade the entrance door while calling for additional protestors to join in. A shoving match ensued with security. SPD intervened and cleared the protestors. During the event, chanting, marching, and chalking took place. At the conclusion of the event, protestors reportedly attempted to hit attendees’ and staff’s vehicles as they left the garage. SPD intervened again and safely facilitated attendees and staff leaving the area. No reportable force was used. No notable property damage occurred.
