#2024-333170/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0240 hours, multiple callers reported a male with a firearm on the 6th floor of an apartment building, attempting to force entry to a unit and threatening to shoot a victim. Officers quickly arrived, set containment, and entered with a contact team. Suspect fled into containment, leading to a foot pursuit through Freeway Park, ending below the Convention Center. TASER deployed (not effective), and suspect was tackled. Firearm found to be a realistic looking BB gun. Suspect DOC active, to be booked for Residential Burglary, Felony Harassment. 241 notified.
#2024-333250/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 0612 hours, two suspects pulled up to the victim’s house in a Kia Sol as he was unloading an item from the backseat of his sedan. The suspects were wearing black balaclavas and one was armed with a machete. After punching the victim in the face the suspects demanded the victim’s keys and wallet. The victim gave the keys to the suspects (he did not have his wallet); however, they were unable to start the victim’s vehicle. The suspects then left the area S/B in the Kia which is more than likely an unreported stolen.
#2024-333311/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0745 hours, WSP received an email containing threats to harm people at a West Pct. address. The individual who wrote the email claimed to have shot their parents and threatened to shoot every cisgender person they see. Officers responded to the location and verified that nobody was harmed. SPD has recently responded to several similar incidents with emails threatening to harm people at the same West Pct. address, as well as other locations in the city. Car 21, 241, and Intel were notified.
#2024-333388/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0922 hours, an employee at a marketplace in the International District was working the front counter. An unknown subject walked into the market and removed a cold drink from the refrigerator. The subject walked to the counter and placed a handwritten note on the counter demanding all the money in the register. The employee gave all the money in the register to the subject, approximately $300. The subject ran out of the store and east on South Jackson Street.
#2024-333357/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 0849 hours, the suspect approached an elderly female who was waiting for the bus at a designated metro bus shelter along 2 Avenue. The suspect removed the walking cane from the female and hit her over the head causing a laceration. The female was transported to the hospital where she received medical treatment (4 medical grade staples) for the injury. The suspect was arrested by officers with the assistance of witnesses to assault. The suspect was declined at KCJ for medical reasons “altered state of mind.” Suspect was transported to HMC for medical evaluation. Later booked into KCJ. (See below)
#2024-333591/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 1251 hours, an Officer on hospital guard of an arrestee at HMC. The arrestee from 24-333357 was seated in handcuffs awaiting intake from the nursing staff when he deliberately kicked the hand of an officer causing pain, swelling, and soreness. The arrestee was later transported back to KCJ and booked for both assaults.
#2024-333628/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1326 hours, Officers responded to a 911 reported stabbing in the 2900 block SW Cambridge St. Two juvenile females, related to one another, had an earlier fight disturbance at their outside agency school. They then relocated to a park near 29 Ave SW / SW Cambridge St and the fight continued. While the fight was being broken up by bystanders, the suspect produced a knife and assaulted the victim. The victim suffered several knife wounds. SPD provided first aid until SFD arrived. She was transported to HMC for further medical treatment. The suspect had fled the scene but was identified by the victim. An area check for the suspect proved negative. The incident was screened with the follow-up unit. SW Patrol processed the scene.
