#2024-338216/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0000 hours, East Patrol responded to a local facility for the report of a resident threatening staff. While the call was coming in, a second resident with a hatchet started to chase the original suspect throughout the building. Police searched for the subject who wielded the hatchet, who witnesses said may be in an apt on the 4th floor. Officers were on the 4th floor when the subject unexpectedly exited an apartment with a hatchet in his sweatshirt pocket. The subject did not comply with police commands and fled out of the building. A foot chase ensued, and the subject was taken into custody in the area of 10th and Jefferson. The original suspect who threatened staff had his door handle cut off by the hatchet and barricaded himself in his apartment. Officers developed PC for the original suspect and sought a warrant for arrest for him. Subject refused to exit the apartment. HNT responded. A warrant was issued by a judge, original subject was arrested. Threat suspect was booked into KCJ, hatchet suspect was taken to HMC under guard until cleared for booking.

#2024-338148/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2043 hours, East patrol responded to the 1800 S Jackson St for the report of a person shot. Ofcs contacted the victim, who had one GSW to each arm and possible shrapnel injury to his face. None of the victim’s injuries were life-threatening. This shooting was related to two other shots calls that recently came out in the area. The victim said they were in their vehicle when they were fired upon by another vehicle in a drive by style shooting. This occurred at 16th and Yesler. 1800 S Jackson in the victim’s residence, he fled there after being shot. The suspects and reason for the shooting are unknown to the victim. Ofcs at 16th and Yesler found bullet damage to a nearby residence but found no FCCs. Witnesses stated a shootout between two vehicles has occurred but offered no description of vehicles or involved subjects. The victim’s car was in the 1800 S Jackson garage. It had bullet damage to the front driver door. No FCCs we in the car, there was no sign that anyone in the vehicle returned fire. Little to no suspect info is known. GRVU and the PIO were notified. Patrol processed the scene.

#2024-338346/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 0230 hours, an unknown suspect deployed an incendiary device against an occupied residence causing minimal damage and no injuries. Patrol and ABS responded to process the scene and collect evidence. ABS will handle the follow up.
