Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead, and a woman injured in a Pioneer Square parking lot early Saturday.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., a dispatcher received a report of a shooting in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South. Officers arrived to find a 40-year-old man in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Shortly after officers arrived, they were notified that a 23-year-old woman had arrived at Swedish Hospital with a gunshot wound. She is in stable but serious condition.
The circumstances leading to the shooting are unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. Members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Homicide detectives responded to the scene.
The Homicide Unit is working to determine the events that led to the shooting. No suspects are in custody at this time.
