Seattle Police arrested a 23-year-old man in Auburn on Jan. 30 in connection with a series of drive-by shootings in Seattle. The suspect was taken into custody at a residence in the 2800 block of 34th Avenue during the service of a search warrant by Seattle Police SWAT, the SPD Gun Violence Reduction Unit, the Coordinated Violence Investigations Team, and the Kent Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit.
The arrest follows an investigation into incidents on Jan. 10, when the driver of a stolen white Dodge SUV and a white Jaguar SUV allegedly terrorized individuals along the Aurora Avenue North corridor. The vehicles were involved in an exchange of gunfire with the driver of a gold Volkswagen, who fired several shots at the Dodge. The Dodge driver and passenger then chased after and shot at two unrelated vehicles.
Two days later, the same Dodge SUV was involved in another drive-by shooting in front of a south Seattle apartment complex. The suspect displayed a firearm and fired four shots into the air before fleeing the scene.
Detectives identified the suspect, a 23-year-old man from Auburn, and recovered evidence during the arrest, including the stolen Dodge SUV and a firearm. The suspect was booked into King County Jail on investigation of assault, drive-by shooting, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
