At 1400 hours, 50-75 people gathered in the Pike Place Market for the Protest Against ICE. After rallying for an hour, the group marched to the Space Needle. The group utilized the sidewalks for the march with only a few minor interruptions to traffic. Upon arriving at the Space Needle a small contingent of the group tried to block the roundabout, but POET was able to contact members of the group who convinced the others the move out of the way. CRG, SAT, POET and Traffic-lite monitored the rally and march. SPOC was activated and LT Farwell was the IC. There were no arrests or disturbances during the event.

#2025-41268/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0200 hours, An A/LT was on patrol when he on viewed a single-vehicle vs pole collision. The driver had driven out of a parking lot, across 4 lanes of traffic, through a crosswalk, and hit a pedestrian signal pole. The A/Lt detected impairment and placed the driver under arrest. The driver was processed for Felony DUI. Noteworthy is that the driver had been arrested/released for felony DUI, IIL, and DWLS-1 in the past 48 hours by KCSO, his second DUI arrest in 2 weeks. Driver had been released from DOC for Felony DUI sentence in November, and this was his 4th DUI/IIL arrest in the 3 months since his release. This case and his releases without charges highlights the public safety risk of releases/declines. Due to work by TCIS detective, KCPAO $750k bail was granted for the suspect.
